PUBLIC POLICY As the legislative council of the chamber, members of this committee make recommendations to the chamber on issues impacting the business community we serve. This committee meets every week during the legislative session and once a month during the rest of the year.
LATINAS IN BUSINESS This committee supports the Latina entrepreneur with networking opportunities, luncheons and training. It also hosts the “Feria de la Mujer” every year with a dinner-dance, an expo with over 60 businesses with women as their focus, folkloric dances, the “Latinas en Acción” annual award and valuable seminars on topics of female interest.
MEMBERSHIP This committee supports the growth of the chamber, provides recommendations to the chamber to increase the level of participation of its members and holds the annual membership drive.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT This group meets once a month and to create, modify or review the economic development programs maintained by the chamber such as FastTrac®, Impulso Empresarial, etc. as well as the alliances created with other Economic Development entities. It also seeks and secures capital access venues for the chamber members.
INTERNATIONAL COMMERCE This group meets twice a month to exchange ideas, resources and advice on international trade, international investment and international business connections. It seeks to enhance Utah’s economic significance in the United States foreign trade. It partners with the local consulates, Utah International Trade and Diplomacy, USEAC, ITA, OPIC, USTDA and USAID.
REFERRAL CORNER This close group is made out of one professional from each industry only and it meets every other week to exchange leads, training on referral handling and support the growth of each other’s businesses. A strong sense of camaraderie, friendship and honesty is felt since its members hold each other to the highest level of integrity and customer service.
PROCUREMENT This committee seeks to provide chamber members access to corporate and government contracts worth millions of dollars every year. It works with U4ED, PTAC, UBDA, SBDC and the SBA to supply technical assistance; support and training to those businesses who wish to become certified and approved federal, state or local government or corporate vendors EVENTS This committee is responsible for coordinating with the Chamber staff, Chamber members and the community, to both create and execute successful and profitable events. The committee is a great way to become involved with the Chamber and lend your vision, creativity and hard work to some of our signature events. |
